Revision & Refinement Course – Korean Style Wheel Throwing
This Revision & Refinement course is designed for students who have completed our 12-Lesson Intensive Korean Wheel Throwing Course and wish to strengthen, correct, and deepen their foundational skills before progressing further.
This is not an introduction, nor an advanced course. It is a return to fundamentals — where technique is clarified, habits are corrected, and confidence is rebuilt through focused repetition. In traditional pottery training, mastery is earned not by learning more, but by doing the same things better. This course honors that philosophy.
Students are encouraged to repeat this course as many times as needed. Each round offers fresh correction, sharper awareness, and greater control at the wheel.
No new techniques are introduced. The goal is refinement, not expansion.
In this course, you will learn to:
-
refine spiral wedging and centering with proper posture and rhythm;
-
throw consistent, even-walled cylinder forms;
-
shape controlled Sabal bowl forms with balanced proportions;
-
triming with L shaped tool;
-
revisit Buncheong decoration, including engraving, gwiyal brushwork, and deombeong dipping, with an emphasis on restraint and intention.
